Many people don’t know what does RSS means ?

Wikipedia’s definition: RSS (most commonly expanded as Really Simple Syndication) is a family of web feed formats used to publish frequently updated works—such as blog entries, news headlines, audio, and video—in a standardized format.

Its a simple way to read/follow a blog on regular basis as quick as possible. You could have seen the RSS icon which looks like below:

RSSIf you are already used to RSS, some times you will be curious to know, how many people have subscribed to a particular blog ? Now the question, how to check the RSS subscriber count ? for a particular feed.

Google’s Feedburner is one of the free RSS system where you could easily check the subscriber count. You don’t need to register for Feedburner, instead type the following in your browser which shows the count as an image.

http://feeds.feedburner.com/~fc/YOURFEEDNAME

For example, if you want to check the feed count of Techcrunch.com then type the following in your browser.

http://feeds.feedburner.com/~fc/techcrunch
