As bloggers, we know that it’s always important to produce content that our readers will love! Otherwise, how will we ever keep up with the growing demands that we make on ourselves every day, such as our traffic goals and monetization concerns? We do this by producing good content; that’s why the phrase ‘Content is King’ is so popular! Because it’s very true.

But if you publish the same kinds of content over and over again, then your blog can become very stale indeed. A stale blog is a blog that doesn’t get traffic, in my experience, so this consequence is to be avoided at all costs! In order to keep your readers interested in what you have to say, you should try to give some variety to how you say it. Of course, I don’t mean to suggest that you shift the focus of your blog’s subject matter; instead, just shift the focus of how you deliver that content.blogging

Here are five ways that I’ve found success in producing content that is both awesome and full of variety. I hope this is helpful!

Write Foundational Content

When you write foundational content on your blog, your focus is on producing information and resource articles for readers who are interested in your niche. Foundational articles should be in-depth articles that provide readers with important and necessary information; it is information with ‘staying power.’

What I mean by that is this information can be useful for a long time. You’ll be surprised by how many readers it draws to your website based on search engine results. Writing these kinds of articles is excellent because it brings in readers who you then hope would stick around to read your other articles every day.

Become a Reporter for the Day

Once you have your foundational articles, then you can work on becoming an expert in the news and latest trends in your blogging niche. You should strive to situate yourself as an authority on everything that happens. Make sure that before you start reporting on the trends in the community, you have a bunch of legitimate sources that can keep you informed.

These sources can be as simple as following the Twitter accounts and personal blogs of several important industry leaders. Once they Tweet something, you can post about it on your own blog. Of course, you have to be fast, but it will be worth it to build your brand as an authority in the community.

Don’t Be Afraid to Share Your Opinions

Another thing you can do is write very opinionated articles on the trends and issues within the blogging community. Set yourself up as someone who is not afraid to share his or her opinions, especially if those opinions are smart and supported with great evidence. Readers are always drawn to bloggers who have strong opinions because they love the spectacle of a well-written argument, especially one that plays out across many blogs. If you can become a well-known voice of reason, then people will flock to your site.

Meet and Greet Everyone in the Community

Another thing you could do as a blogger is create a vibrant community at your blog. Welcome comments and always respond to them. Ask industry experts if you could interview them and post the interview on your blog.

Gather a panel of experts to have a forum on an issue within the industry community. If you use your blog as a welcoming sort of place, one that fosters healthy discussion from everyone important to the community, then your traffic will grow as people find out how your blog has become a vibrant community.

Solicit Guest Posts from Your Readers

Finally, you can work on asking your readers to send in their own guest posts. You might be surprised at how awesome some of your readers are at writing blog posts, and who knows? Maybe you’ll find someone who could regularly write for your blog?

The important thing to know is that guest posts from readers will allow you to have a bit more content for less effort, though you’ll still have review the guest posts and edit them. Still, who knows? Often readers can be great resources, and you don’t want to miss that opportunity to improve your blog.
