How To Start Affiliate Online Business ? Selling Affiliate Products

Affiliate marketing is one of the most profitable online business – it is easy to operate. You could start affiliate online business without any start up cost or with little cost. The returns are huge, when compared to the start up cost. There are two methods, you could start as an affiliate marketer:

• Selling your own products as a business.
• Selling affiliate (others) product as a business.

In this article, we are going to see the second method i.e., selling other people product as an affiliate. I have published bunch of articles on these topics earlier and now, i want to cover these two methods as a series. In the up coming article, i will help on how to start affiliate business with your own products.

As mentioned earlier, you don’t need huge start up cost when you are selling other people products. In the end of this article, i want you to understand the basic steps involved in affiliate business and also, you should be able to proceed with your new business. Let see in detail….

First, Join An Affiliate Network.

There are many affiliate networks available in the market. It is not a tough job to begin with, just go to Clickbank or CJ or Shareasale. Simply, sign up to their network, its free to join as an affiliate.

• As a beginner, i would recommend you to go with Clickbank as a first step, habituate and later move to other networks. Don’t join every network at the first shot, definitely you will loose.

Clickbank has bunch of products on almost all the topic and you could pick products easily. There is no approval process or any thing like that, just pick a product, promote it and make money as commission. That’s why i recommend to go for Clickbank as a first step.

Pick Profitable Products Which has Demand.

Once joined the Affiliate Network, you have to pick profitable products. Generally, products which have high demand in the market are profitable. Decide the market first and then pick the product from a particular market.

• For example, forex trading is the market and forex automatic trading software is the product (say, Megadroid software). Don’t go for crowded market like health care (say, weight loss) at the first time – understand/experiment with familiar market, later move to other.

Choose a market where you have already the basic knowledge, this helps you to understand well about the market and the affiliate product.

Drive ONLY Buyer Traffic.

The toughest part is driving visitors, not only just visitors you have to show the product to people who are willing to buy it. That’s the buyer traffic. Basically, show the product to related people, this way you could increase the chances of buying. There are many strategies you could employ in driving buyer traffic. I will explain you the few here….

Build A Blog.

The most trusted method to drive traffic as well as it earns you for the long term – build a blog. Don’t use free tools like Blogger.com or WordPress.com to create blogs. Instead, host your own web site (there are great discounts on Dreamhost, use it) and install free WordPress cms. Understand basic SEO released by Google.

Write articles related to the product (say 2-3 articles per week). The proven method is, publish articles which directly addresses the problem of visitors and show the affiliate product as a solution.

You blog slowly attracts visitors from search engines who are real people looking for your product (they have the real problems which could be solved by an affiliate product). This way, you are driving buyer traffic and chances of making more sales, hence you make commission per sale.

• Slowly, build an authority blog by publishing useful articles regularly. Join forums related to the market and link back your blog (check Forum marketing tips). Write comments on other related blogs (check Comment marketing tips).
• Read another article on, how to start money making as blogger ? and how to get buyer traffic ?

Other Ways To Find Buyers.

The best strategy – build a blog and use the below method to bring in targeted buyers:

• Use Google Adwords to quick drive traffic – select right keywords which directly brings in related people (costly method).
• Create a Facebook page and link the product page, drive traffic through Facebook Ads (comparatively cheaper method).
• Grow Facebook Fans and Twitter Followers, link your blog and also, broadcast your affiliate link to the network.
• Try Google Plus too…
• Advertise on other blogs (buy monthly banner ad or text link).

What you have done so far is the learning process with 1 market – 1 blog. The next step, quickly get into another market and follow the same steps. Now avoid your previous mistakes and follow the best approach, every time.

Keep in mind, the greatest disadvantage of this method: your business will become more dependent on search engines – so always work to promote alternative sources of traffic – it helps in long term !
