A Dofollow Blog – My Expectations, Experimentation & Rules For Commenting

I am glad to inform you that from today onwards this is a dofollow blog !

What is Dofollow ?

A simple technical definition, its removing the html code “rel = nofollow” in all the commentator links (A tags) and hence tells search engines to follow that link. In short, a link without “nofollow” becomes a trusted link.

So when a commenter leaves his URL, it doesn’t have “rel = nofollow” and it may gain authority from search engines (1 of million factors). For webmasters, its an important marketing step.

In general, most of the web sites/blogs are not dofollow because of the fear to manage/control SPAM Comments ! Its not so tough to manage spam comments but many of the webmasters don’t want to get that trouble. But there are few brave webmasters (like me ) who makes their commentators URL dofollow. I would say, this is an experimentation too because blogging requires you to experiment always ! And i want to experiment, how dofollow affects my growth ?

My Expectations On Do-following Comments.

This blog has great information and you could definitely feel that on browsing through the pages (See my Archives). And i am working hard every day to produce quality content for my blog. FYI, i am busy day worker and completely running this blog part-time (you could call me, part-time Entrepreneur). Now coming back to the topic, there are so many reasons why i am turning this blog into dofollow. To mention below are the few reasons.

Increase Reader Interaction.

Interaction is the mutual or reciprocal action between each other. A blog without reader interaction looks dead. It is really required to keep my blog alive and active. It helps the readers each other to discuss and clarify their doubts over commenting. It helps to share everyone’s view about a topic. Either a +ve thought or a -ve thought, it is good to speak out and it helps others to correct/understand the stuffs better. Definitely, interaction adds value to the blog and helps the readers to understand everything better.

So You Have To Interact…

Value Add To Content.

I want to add value to my blog content. Increased reader interaction adds value to the content. A blog post may not cover all the insights on a topic but when it comes to readers they could think of many possibilities. Encouraging comments leads to share those insights and it helps other readers too. Moreover, a blog with valuable information grows faster than anything else.

A common example could be DP Forum which is completely relying on the readers thought ! So You Have To Add Value…

I am not an Expert.

You may know this “Money Making Online” niche well. I am damn sure that most of you reading this post are not beginners. You should be a blog owner and known all the basics of making money from Internet. I may not be a great expert in this niche, this is my only active blog (i have few dead blogs) where i am not posting any articles. And more than that, i never monetize my blog effectively. In fact, i don’t want to effectively monetize it right now.

I am currently running only Kontera in-text Ads (even i may remove this soon) and no other affiliate/ad promotions ! Frankly, i don’t make any great money from this blog BUT i want to produce quality & useful content in this Niche. I have my own skills to perceive, what is right & what is wrong with any online business ! I am MBA professional too. I am educated to judge ! So this way, you experts should share your knowledge here and tell the readers how you are making money !

So you have to be an expert here….

Opening Readers Mind.

In general, many people hesitate to write comments on others blog. They have the fear to share their thoughts to the world. I want every one to open their mind on the topic & share it across to others. You could even point my mistakes. A open mind is always fresh & clear towards the goal ! So be open minded here…

Increase Subscribers.

Every blogger wants to increase his subscriber count. And i am not excluded from that category. Having an information rich dofollow blog will definitely increases my subscribers count. Lets see, how it is growing in the future. I think this will be the great challenge for a blogger. Even now i started using Twitter and i have to increase the number of followers too.

Its a good strategy to ask the visitors to subscribe (without disturbing them) because its free of cost for both of us. I give information & you need information, a mutual understanding. I believe being a dofollow blog will definitely ignite people to subscribe because they want to comment as soon as a new post published.

Going Viral.

Useful content goes viral. Its true in Internet because people want to share/feed information to each other. If you release a free ebook which solves a problem, your ebook will reach to every one who is having that problem. Its nature. Most of the Internet users are solution seekers and if you solve their problem then its viral.

I believe a dofollow blog goes viral especially in the hands of Internet Marketers because dofollow blogs are in demand for link building. I believe there are hurdles waiting in terms of spam comments, lets face it. So you have to spread words about this blog…

Increase SE Traffic.

Its a chain reaction. A viral content/URL gets great hit from search engines. I believe my blog gained decent authority from search engines. It stands in Top 10 for words like money making online, money making tips & related on Google.co.in & No.1 on Yahoo.com. So now its going to be more viral than before & hence it will gain more authority of search engines.

SEO is a hard part for online business especially in this highly competitive niche. I am expecting a growth in the search traffic too and i will definitely share to the readers when that time comes ! I want to stop working harder & want to make things smarter ! Lets see, how it goes and how dofollow affects my growth ?

Dofollow Experiment.

My definition of Experimentation is the process of testing an idea. Either its your idea or someone else idea, you have to do experiments. Its more important for business and for online business its unavoidable. If you are not doing an experiments then its sure that your business is not going in the right direction. If you want to grow, do experiments, do more experiments. Learn from the results and tweak your process better towards success. That’s the secret. I want to experiement with dofollow.

To Have Fun…

I always believe that Blogging is Fun ! We should not miss that fun. Having people commenting on my blog may go even fun (i believe, unless its doesn’t become a trouble). When more people are in a place, the information that we are conveying may go useful added with FUN. Blogging leads to inter-networking with more & more people. Its a oppurtunity for me to have fun with the readers/commentators.

Encouraging more comments may sometimes leads to more funny discussions. I do have plans to conduct simple Blog Contests, lets wait & see…

Risks Awaiting For Me.

Looks i have great expectations, right ? Okay, lets come to my side & see what risks i have to take care ?

Fighting Spam Comments.

As i said earlier, a dofollow blog has to face troubles in terms of spam comments. There are huge number of comment spammers (already) and i expect that becomes double/triple going forward. I have the right plugin’s ready & will fight against spammers. If i fail to fight spams then my blog too fails & i have to return back to “nofollow”. So i have to concentrate much towards blocking the spam comments. Lets hope for the best.

Managing My Time.

Finally, the most important factor of part-time entrepreneurs, TIME. Already i have a busy schedule every day and its tough to find time even for writing a great blog post. Now i have to find more time for moderating the comments. I believe, i have to spend extra 10-20 minutes everyday to manage the comments & that depends on how many comments i receive. I don’t think about this much & i wanted to see the results first (its worth or unworthy) ! Always, Time is Gold and we have to pay attention towards better management.

Simple Rules For Commenting In This Blog.

To make our each others work simpler, the much awaited “Commenting Rules” are here.

Don’t write comments like “Its great post”, “Thanks for writing this post”, “You have great blog”, bla bla bla…
Write comments which really adds value to blog post atleast 2 to 3 lines.
A reply can be shorter depends on the context of discussion.
Be polite in your comments and keep in mind that the Internet world is Reading you….
More important, don’t use too many keywords in your comments. If you want to use keywords then follow this syntax, <YourName>@<Keyword> or <YourName>from<Keyword> or simply <YourName> or simply <Keyword>
For example, Mr.Ven @ eMoney, Mr.Ven from eMoney are valid comments. “Online Business, Internet Business,bla bla”, “Earn 1000$ In A Night”, “Drive 10K Visitors In 1 Hour” etc. are JUNK comments.
I will mark such junk comments as SPAM and you could not add a comment to this blog anymore. Life time ban
Don’t Add any URL to the body of comment unless it adds value to the blog post or it is required based on the context of the discussion.
I respect your privacy & I never share your email id to anyone (i don’t know, why wordpress commenting system asks e-mail ??? i think to notify the comment replies).

These are simple rules to follow while you add a comment to this blog. Please don’t SPAM, its waste of time for both you & me. Instead, always add value to the blog post, its good for all.
